Printing Tips

Once you’ve settled on your postcard design, the next factor to think about  is your printing specifications. At My Postcard Printing, you can select your printing specifications right on the front page. The instant pricing calculator will even update immediately. Why? We want you to be aware of all your options and how your choices will influence the price, without having to wait for an agent to call you back.

But what do these options mean? We’ll review them in detail below.

Sizes

size options

You can choose from six standard postcard sizes from the “Size” dropdown menu. We also offer a custom size option for you to pick a custom size of your own. Printing sizes start from a minimum of 4 x 4″ increasing by 0.25″ up to a maximum of 11 x 6″.

Stocks

All our postcards are printed on sturdy cover stock. Each option differ mostly by finish, and are described below:

  • 14 pt. Cover Gloss – Has a soft sheen that enhances colors. It is also the most cost effective paper stock available.
  • 14 pt. Cover Matte – Has an elegant satin finish.
  • 13 pt. Cover Uncoated – Is a 30% recycled paper stock with a natural paper texture that is more affordable than the comparable Classic Crest®.

Color Options

The following terms are often used when you use quality online printing services. No need to worry though, because we’ll explain what they all mean below:

  • “4 Color Front; Blank Back” - Means your design will be printed in full-color on one side, with the other side left blank.
  • “4 Color Front; Black Back” – Is similar to the previous item, except the other side will be all black. There is only a one-letter difference between these two options, so be sure to double check your selection!
  • “4 Color Both Sides” - Means we’ll be printing full-color on both sides of your prints. This way your recipients will have twice the reasons to pay attention to your custom postcards!

We hope this has enlightened you on the possibilities of your custom postcard printing. Subscribe to the My Postcard Printing Blog’s RSS feed today for even more fresh postcard tips!
